How to Use Harry Potter to Learn German

You can use Harry Potter to magically improve your German. The books and audiobooks are available in German, translated by Klaus Fritz. The books are popular in German-speaking countries and are readily available through Amazon.com and other booksellers. Print and Audiobook Versions of Harry Potter One reader bought the book and audiobook and read them together to learn pronunciation and rhythm. She often looked up unfamiliar words and phrases in a dictionary.  She said that listening to the audiobook the first time was a torrential blur of German. But after a few times, the words became distinct and soon the story emerged. She began reading the page aloud right after hearing it to improve her pronunciation. The Second Coming: A Painful Truth? For hundreds of centuries, man has pondered what revelations or spiritual awakenings will occur in futures time. Poet William Yeats, has written, The Second Coming, which foretells how the Second Coming brings horror and repression to the world. Yeats takes into speculation that the future will certainly bring further darkness than is already present in the current world. He employs various symbols and allusions to assert his claims of the worlds ultimate demise. The purpose of these symbols and allusions make it possible to fully understand Yeatss point of view of the fall of our present civilization and the rise of a new civilization with a gloomy future. Another major symbol that Yeats employs is the sphinx-like character that presents itself at the second coming. The sphinx represents a satanic, domineering, merciless monster, which in turn represents the horrendous terror of the new world to be. Yeats describes the sphinx as a rough beast with birds of prey circling around it, thus symbolizing a new age of violence and death. In a broader context, the publication of this poem in 1920 results from the recent conclusion of World War I. Mass destruction and death ensued following the war further suggesting Yeats theory that after the twenty centuries of stony sleep conclude, widespread horror and repression will fall by the coming of the rough beast. Byfeeling selfimposed humility, the person gets a sense of gratification inhis life. He now knows that he has a good reason to keep going. Eventuallythe pers on will also receive that same love from others. Therefore, a newsource for positive gratification and love is created, making racismobsolete. These principles have not been fully successful as people arenaturally more willing to be lethargic than active, more likely to befollowers than leaders, usually submit rather than stand up forthemselves. They need courage. The courage must come from the love within,it must be true courage. For some, it doesnt come naturally, but with onestrong foot forward, and a heart for others, racism can be defeated andthe world can live in peace and equality.

These are the foundation of my research and I will merge my personal interviews and research with those from the Internet and literary works in book format. Page 3 The research question that I have developed for this proposal is: Can changes be made within the management of my workplace that will positively affect the quality of work produced by our business unit, an increase in the productivity of our personnel, enhancement of improved job satisfaction, and a turn around for our current problem with retention of key employees? A thesis statement, although not asked for, would be something along the lines of: Our business unit will have a higher quality of work produced by a more energetic and proactive workforce who possess a far better job satisfaction level while retaining the best personnel through the creation of a more professional and people centric management. A specific objective is to determine the varying effects that subpar managers and an overall poor managerial environment have upon my business unit. The specific department I will research intensively is the business unit in which I work while also including a broader arena as necessary to bring together all data that I have discovered and researched. The approach taken is one of descriptive studies and will in the end provide some coursed of action to take for our unit to change its current underperformance. A key area of study will be managerial inadequacy and personnel issues. Combining the hands-on work that I have accomplished along with he data collected via the Internet and literature acquired should allow the formulation of some concrete steps to take when moving toward a better professional workplace while taking into account the personal aspects which have thus far been almost singularly denied. The current environment in which my colleagues and I work is one that has several issues that need to be reviewed and examined thoroughly. Page 5 In the undertaking of this capstone project I hope more so than expect to have a positive effect on my professional environ ment. My desire is to invigorate the mindset of some of our more set in their ways managers while attempting to engage colleagues and subordinates in a way that is positive and helps development of a better working atmosphere. Some alternatives I foresee could be as extreme as resentment by management and trepidation by colleagues who reside professionally in fear of persecution; as well as the possibility of a real change in operations and procedures; or this capstone project may be an exercise in futility as time goes on and changes are not made to the system. Personally I feel that this capstone project is an opportunity for me to show my organizational skills that I possess and have honed during my university studies. Professionally my greatest hope is for some positive changes to be made throughout the organization in which I work. The organizational benefits which could be derived if I do well in my presentation of this project could be higher levels of production by employees and management, a greater commitment to employee satisfaction, improved quality of work, and retention of superior performers. Page 6 I believe a successful project for me would involve validation from my coworkers that I have hit on the key talking points that need to be addressed at our workplace. If management would take my proposals into account when determining a course of action to go forth with in the future when dealing with personnel and work related issues that would provide more satisfaction but since this may not occur no matter how well my points are made I view this alternative at some level as â€Å"frosting on the cake†. At this point in my research and the stage of development which I am at in my project I can state that my colleagues are very interested and fully supportive. The criteria I will use in evaluating my current status would be the critiques and recommendations of my managers, coworkers, and subordinates. I can be judged by many different aspects on this capstone project but I truly feel as though the one that is the single greatest measure will be the feedback provided by those who work with me on a daily basis within the business unit.

The factor I will be recording is the temperature of the water in degrees for a total of six minutes. To record the temperature I will use a thermometer. I am saying this because inside cotton wool there are many small pockets of trapped air, and air is a very good insulator in small pockets. This helps prevent convection because air is trapped into the small pockets. The next best insulator I think is the best is bubble wrap. I think that bubble wrap is the next best insulator because bubble wrap have bubbles, which is trapped of air. Therefore, conduction or radiation cannot take place. This can not take place because air is trapped into the pockets. The next insulator I think will be good is plastic foam. This is because plastic foam is made from sponge and it has many pores. Heat is prevented from being lost is that it has little holes which then can trap air. However, little conduction and radiation can still take place. I base my prediction on the following Scientific Background: All metals are good conductors and most non- metals are good insulators. The best insulators are insulators that trap air if the air cant move then it cant move then it cant transfer the heat energy by convection and a bad conductor. Things like blankets. String vests, loft insulation, polystyrene and foam are all good insulators. The more surface area there is on the boiling tube the more of the hot water will be in contact with the air and so the quicker it will cool. Insulation such as cotton wool and bubble wrap traps air that is a bad conductor this means that heat is trapped and the test tube stays hot. Conduction: Conduction is when energy is passed directly from one item to another. If you stirred a pan of soup on the stove with a metal spoon, the spoon will heat up. The heat is being conducted from the hot area of the soup to the colder area of the spoon. Metals are excellent conductors of heat energy. Other things like wood or plastics are not good conductors of heat energy. These bad conductors are called insulators. Thats why a pan is usually made of metal and the handle is made of a strong plastic. Convection: Convection is the movement of gases or liquids from a cooler spot to a warmer spot. If the soup pan above was made of glass, we could see the movement of convection currents in the pan. The warmer soup moves up from the heated area at the bottom of the pan to the top where it is cooler. The cooler soup then moves to take the warmer soups place.
